Drink wine in Kopi-Tiam... 2 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I remember there was this shop call Wine Flair at the second storey some shop houses along Thomson road. Any one figured out what happened to it? That was the closest I come across eating duck rice at the kopi tiam and drinking wine.

Actually I am really sceptical about eating and drinking wine at kopi-tiam unless they are air-conditioned. Can't imagine my wine brewing under the sizzling hot weather which is not quite an ideal temperature to enjoy it...

I guess the idea of drinking wine at kopi-tiam is not sitting there for the rest of the afternoon swirling your wine away under the sizzling hot sun. My glass of wine would probably last me for the entire duration of the meal. Which comes to think of those 375ml metal can wine. I think it's ideal for a meal session.

I was just wondering about the same thing a few weeks ago, when I drove past that area If I remember correctly, there was a bit of hoohah in the papers a long time back, about wines entering the local kopitiam (and heartlands) scene. And Wine Flair was supposed to be one of the first few shops that dared to make such a move.

Does anyone know if it's still around i.e. just moved somewhere else, or did it close down?

I think Wine Flair is totally gone...not sure if it has moved elsewhere because it wasn't found in the yellowpages...

Figured it its probably quite difficult to tap onto the residence nearby. How do you imagine the 'appeal' factor for the private residences surrounding it? Other than that the wine drinking culture probably hasn't got into the older HDB dwellers along Sin Ming...lol...
