This is the latest 2006 Vintage Chart from Robert Parkers' Wine Advocate website. I thought it would be helpful for some folks who are serious into wines or would like to understanding the vintage outlook for the year. Within the columns of this chart displays the vintage years for each region where as the horizontal rows shows the country/region. The Numbers and Alphabets in each box indicates Robert Parkers rating of the wine for the corresponding region and year. For example the symbol '88T' means the wine in the region is rated as above average to excellent but istill young to drink. Some maturing is required. Although I use this chart pretty often, I would take this as a reference to make intelligent decisions when shopping for wines rather than treating it wholesale as an almanac. Everyone has different experience and outlook to taste, so what I don't like does not neccesarily means you wouldn't like it too. Some of us prefer wines with certain characteristics, tanin and acidity while some may prefers wine that is mellow, sweet and fruity. So the numbers here are really subjective in my opinion. And really, can you differentiate wine with 1 point difference - 95 (Finest) with 96 (Extraordinary) ? I suppose that wouldn't make you change your mind to pick up that bottle of Italian from Tuscany versus an Australian from Barossa Valley? And what's the point without a nice cool chiller to cellar your priced collections? Find out how to create a perfect >> WINE CELLAR << to store your 95 pointer wines!
