Er...no....we are not going on a educational tour of Templar Knights Crusades during medieval England. And...no, Temple Bruer is not one of those trend-setting, upmarket sparkling wine for the young urban snots.

Located in Langhorn Creek district, South Australia, Temple Bruer is one of the rare wine estates that made use of sound oenological practices to produce organic wines. Their Temple Bruer label was atrributed to ancestry to Temple Bruer in Lincolnshire England.

For one, I was totally fascinated by this wine not because of their Templar Knights ancestry, but I always wondered how in this world can we produce 100% organic food product given all the massive and irreversible polution beset by mankind... Imagine the soil have to be organic, the the rain have to be organic, the fertilizer (manure) organic? and even the air perharps?

Regardless of the above, the objective is not to dwell on the 100% organic topic. Let just assume that they are really organic and our objective is to savour the wine and share our thoughts here...

Grown organically and aged in new french oak, the Temple Bruer Cabernet Sauvignon Petit Verdot Reserve 2001 carried a crimson purple concentration of asian spice, cigar and slight minty nose, which unmistakenly displays tasting notes of mints, white pepper amist the sweet organic berries. Perharps due to it's organic nature, the wine has a distinctly unique taste unlike the usual Cabernet Sauvignon I've tried. The however does not affect the palate which is long and firm yet supple and approachable, with finishing of red berries in great length.

For most of us, this wine is either you love it or hate it. If you've tried a bar of non-organic chcocolate versus an organic bar of chocolate, you'll know exactly what I meant. Nevertheless, for the health consicious and our organic community, this wine truely is a great additon to your weekend table spread.
